Coggins & Health Certificate

All horses entering the state of Kansas shall be accompanied by an official health certificate.  All Equidea (horses) shall be tested negative for equine infectious anemia (EIA) within 12 months prior to entry. Foals under six months of age, nursing their negative dams are not required to be tested. The AGID (Coggins) and Elisa tests are approved.   http://www.kansas.gov/kahd/laws/import_requirements.shtml#equidae

General Rules

AQHA rules will be strictly enforced by show personnel.

  • Entries will be accepted until five classes prior to the class being entered is run.
  • Cash, check, money orders, credit cards. If entering at the show, tabs can be run only if an open, signed check is left at show office. All bills must be settled by end of show. Returned checks will be assessed a $35.00 fee.
  • Unpaid bills and returned checks are reported to the AQHA which could result in suspension if not paid.
  • Working order in individually worked classes will be drawn for. YOU MUST GO IN ORDER. You must ride in your heat in rail classes. Working orders will be announced and posted.  
  • Patterns will be posted near the entrance of the arena. 
  • If you have to scratch a class, please notify the gate man and the entry desk. NO REFUNDS ON SCRATCHES.   
  • No exhibition runs will be allowed. 
  • Gate calls will be strictly enforced. 
  • All exhibitors must have current 2010 AQHA memberships to compete. Memberships can be purchased at the show office or AQHA booth.   
  • Bedding and hay are handled by an independent contractor as a convenience to the exhibitors.
  • A tie breaker judge will be designated before each class.  
  • The show is judged one time by each of two judges and the judges placing's will be averaged. If there is a tie, a tie breaker judge will have been pre-determined. All ties broken.
  • Points will be tabulated on a 9 point system. Example: In a class of 9 or more, 1st place receives 9 points, 2nd place gets 8, etc.; in a class of 5, 1st gets 5 points, 2nd gets 4 and so on. Awards will be determined on total points earned.
